Getting back to basics of weapons and the different types, both handguns and long guns have been discussed, this is a continuation of the long gun discussion.
One thing that I find that most people don't realize is the difference in rifles. Rifles got there name from the long barrel that contained riffling on the inside of the barrel. Rifling is essentially cutting spiraled groves on the inside of the barrel. This enables the bullet to spin as it leaves the barrel. This increased the accuracy of the bullet. Some may ask, why does spinning of a bullet increase accuracy? it is comparable to a quarterback throwing a football in a spiral pass versus just lobbing the ball without any spin.
There are basically 3 types of rifles:
1. Single Shot
2. Semiautomatic
3. Full Automatic
I will be releasing individual posts on each of these separately. Please subscribe to our email list for updates on future articles and posts.
